Pirate Birthday

This hatchling wanted a pirate party.

To his great joy, the rec centre set him up a pirate ship.

The day went past,

in a blur.

I should have brought my nikon,

but incorrectly thought my phone would do.

The shutter speed

just was not up to the task.

Bear with my terrible photos.

This little lady,

tried hard to keep up.

There was so much 

energy 

in the gymnasium

and a whole lot of 

happiness.

We don't do birthday parties as a routine,

we try to scatter a couple between them all,

each year.

And it is was lovely,

that all children from 11 years down to not quite one,

declared they had a lot of fun.
